Down to Earth Retreat Day

What a day!  Starting off with meditation from Melle from Mellebeing grounded us all in the garden.  Such an awesome way to start the day.  Followed by a Healthy Snacks workshop from the Aroma Dudes.  They demonstrated how to make healthy chips from vegetables and essential oils like Kale and sweet potato, dips which we all enjoyed with much enthusiasm.



Dean and his permaculture experience delivered a brief intro to permacutlure and it’s ethics.  He gave us an awesome practical insight into how plants take up their nutrients, with volunteers from the group which made for a fun demonstration.  This was then followed by a practical demonstration on how to build a compost hot compost pile.

Finally Yvonne showed how to make kombucha at home with a practical demonstration and tastings from Pura Vida Organics top notch previously bottled brews.

To finish off Melle closed the day with another “Down to Earth” meditation.

Lunch followed with snacks from the Aroma Dudes, soup and savoury slice from Jodie.  Catch up, share and connect time with the option to stay around the fire ended such a fantastic day.


We had lucky door prizes including wax wraps and honey donated by Vicki Harrington, the kombucha brew made during the kombucha demonstration and every guest received a goodie bag.  Big shout out to everyone that participated on the day, donated their time, gifts and knowledge especially Melle, Aroma Dudes, Dean, Jodie and Cal, Vicki, Linda from Oz Tukka, Your Food Collective and our Daz for facilitating the space and organising the awesome garden.

We hope to run another day later on in the year and we thank every one that was involved and gave their time and gifts, we are most grateful.
